No matter how wealthy you are, you’re unlikely to want to see your money languishing behind the cost of living and, increasingly, our clients are asking us to help them make their assets work a little bit harder. Fortunately, we know as much about commercial real estate as we do about residential.
Recently, for example, we advised a Saudi client to invest in a Waitrose supermarket near the Cotswolds home we’d found for him. It’s a brand he completely understood, and the investment should make a decent contribution to the £250,000 or so he’ll need annually to run his estate.
Our goal is to help clients think creatively, as much in terms of where they invest as where they live and, while London and New York remain as popular as ever for both home ownership and commercial investment, we always try to broaden their horizons.
